Biodiversity Management Committees (BMC) & Peoples' Biodiversity Registers (PBR)
In pursuance to the orders of the Hon’ble National Green Tribunal, New Delhi, on matter of O.A. 347/2016, Odisha Biodiversity Board has facilitated the constitution of 7256 BMCs (100% of total local bodies) and preparation of 7256 Dynamic PBRs (100% of BMCs) in 6798 Gram Panchayats, 314 Blocks, 114 Urban Local Bodies and 30 Districts. As per the instructions of the Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., Forest and Environment Department, Government of Odisha, further enrichment of the PBRs is going on through the web based application software hosted in the URL www.pbrodisha.in developed by the Board to accomplish the preparation of Peoples’ Biodiversity Registers (PBR) under restricted guidelines for travel and organisation of meetings under COVID19 pandemic.
